Privacy
A plain-language draft describing the information collected through the Adopt Canada website.
Who is handling your information?
Adopt Canada is currently a working project name, not a corporation, nonprofit, charity, or other registered legal entity. Until an operator is formally identified, this notice is incomplete and must not be treated as a final privacy policy.
Information you provide
When you submit the supporter form, the site operators receive the information you enter, which may include your name, email address, mobile number, city, state, contact preference, SMS consent selection, and message.
How information is used
Submitted information is intended to be used to respond to you, make introductions, administer the supporter matching process, and communicate about the Adopt Canada project. Please do not submit financial information, identity documents, health information, or other sensitive personal details.
SMS information
If you separately opt in to SMS, the operators may use your mobile number to send conversational or program-related text messages. SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of participation or purchase. Opt-out requests must be honored. The final version of this notice must identify any messaging provider and describe its data practices.
Form processing
Website form submissions are transmitted through Formspree, a third-party form processing service. Formspree's handling of information is governed by its own terms and privacy practices.
Sharing
The operators should share personal information only when necessary to run the introduction service, use contracted service providers, comply with law, or act with your permission. Mobile opt-in data and consent should not be sold. The final policy must reflect actual access, retention, disclosure, and deletion practices.
Your choices
To ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you submitted, email info@adoptcanada.org. For SMS, you may also reply STOP to an incoming message or use another reasonable method to revoke consent.
Policy updates
The published policy should identify the operator, include an effective date, and be updated when program practices or service providers change.
